Windward Horizon: Factions & Quests Guide

This is my Mini Guide for the current quests in-game along with some tips and tricks to help you progress.

Questing in Windward Horizon

Questing is a new feature added in Windward Horizon, it adds a deep backstory and lore to the world and its factions and gives you some insights into the inner workings of the factions, its also a way to unlock the “undiscovered” ships in your ports!

To help people who are stuck, lost or confused how to continue the quest chains i thought id write this small guide with some tips along the way!

Factions and their Representatives

Currently there are six factions in Windward Horizon, each with their own bonuses, colours and representatives that you must first speak to to join, more representatives become available after certain quest points so I’ve listed them in order from first unlocked to later unlocked.

In no particular order:

Free Navy (White) – El” Elvanora Mitrini or Basher Jarov
Valiant (Red) – Roger Wales
Consulate (Green) – Sonya Rivaldi or Alvana Visconti
Sojourn (Blue) – Yrin T’Shen or Abe Lugaro
Exchange (Yellow) – Silvano De Forino or Baz Rivaldi
Syndicate (Purple) – Sonya Rivaldi (after completing “Threads of Deception.”)

Joining a different Faction

When you start the game you will be asked to choose a faction, do not worry, this is a very minor choice as you have the ability to join any other faction you so desire.

To join any of the factions you must have a reputation level of at least 500 with them and have completed their introductory quest. this can be obtained by doing any of their missions, aiding them in battle, trading or joining co-op instances.

Once this quest is completed and you have obtained the reputation level required you should see new quests popping up in towns like this:

Simply click the one you wish to join, talk through the dialogue and voila! you are now a member of a new faction!

If you wish to swap back to an already unlocked faction you its as easy as opening your inventory, swapping to the customisation tab and clicking the little faction icon and selecting which faction you want to represent, however, once chosen, it will be locked in for an hour.

Quick tips before the Quest list

To find quest givers easily, you can use the Rumours tab in any town, simply click this icon:

Once in the Rumours tab, all you need to do is type the name of the person you are looking for and you should be given their location.

all you then need to do is sail to that province, locate them or visit a town and speak to them.

At certain points through the quest chains, you may need to wait some in-game days for the next step of the quest chain to appear. one in-game day is six real world minutes. if you cant find the next step i’d suggest going out on a few missions, entering a few co-op instances, anything that will keep you busy and pass a bit of time until the next step is available.

Also, to fully complete the chosen quest chain, you will need at least 2500 reputation points with the faction you are questing for. as previously mentioned, these can be obtained by completing missions, trading or joining co-op instances.
