This guide is based on information from the official guidebook.
How the Ending System Works
There are two main ways this score can go up or down:
- Certain dialogue choices in the main quests.
- Using specific synthesis skills.
(More on these in a later chapter.)
In addition to this score, there is also a maximum and minimum value that limits how high or low the score can go.
- At the start of the game, the score range is from 0 (minimum) to 100 (maximum).
- As the story progresses, the minimum score can increase if you make choices that give bonus points.
- However, the minimum score does not decrease, even if you make bad choices or use negative synthesis skills that lower the score.
Note: Using positive synthesis skills does not increase the minimum score.
After you defeat the final boss, the game will check your current score.
- If your score is 75 or higher, you get one type of ending.
- If your score is below 75, you get a different ending.
Note: The guidebook doesn’t say exactly how many different endings there are.
In theory, you can use synthesis skills to raise or lower your score before the final battle to change the ending.
However, if your minimum score is already 75 or more, you can no longer get the lower-score ending, no matter what you do.
