As of launch, this game does window management that breaks Bazzite (and I presume other distro) multitasking. This guide will show you how to put the game in a window so that you can multitask again.
Installing Proton-GE
NOTE: This may be optional.
1. Open the preinstalled app “ProtonPlus”
2. Click Proton-GE
3. Click the download icon next to Proton-GE Latest
4. Restart Steam
5. Right click Berserk B.I.T.S in your library and click properties
6. In the compatibility tab, check “force the use of a specific Steam Play compatibility tool” then select Proton-GE Latest.
Setting the game to be in a Window
1. Open the game on steam. Close it when it is fully launched (Alt + F4 may be needed).
2. Open the preinstalled app “Protontricks”
3. Select “Berserk B.I.T.S 2348540”. NOTE: If it does not show up in this list, make sure you have started the game before, and if you have, then try using Proton-GE. Click OK.
4. “Select the default wineprefix” OK.
5. “Run winecfg” OK.
6. In the Graphics tab of the new window, check “Emulate a virtual desktop”
7. Set the desktop’s resolution to the size you’d like your window to be. Note that this game works best with a resolution of 1920×1080 or higher.
8. Apply, and close everything out.
9. Boot the game, it should now be in a window and not messing with your desktop/focus.
