Ale & Tale Tavern: All Potions Guide (Related Achievements Inlcuded)

Here is a complete guide to brewing all potions available in the game and reference tips for related achievements.

Prerequisites

To unlock the potion crafting feature in the game, one has to complete the quest for the herbalist. The quest reward is the alchemical lab, where the potions are brewed using the alchemical ingredients throughout the game. Additionally, upon completion the achivement “Don’t look under the pot” is accomplished. There already exist good guides for the quest/achievement walkthrough.

Potion Crafting

Setting up the station is easy – it has to be placed in the tavern like a stove. After that, it is ready for brewing. The ingredients can be found in the places listed below. Aside from the usual potions, there are also two helpful items to be created: the resurrection crystal and the grindstone. They all are crafted upon adding two different kinds of ingredients into the cauldron’s UI, regardless of the type. The table below shows the according recipes, blacked out are the duplicate ones to avoid confusion.

Related Achievements

There are also achievements to complete with the alchemy feature, all of which are completed for every group member in a multiplayer game.

The first one starts easy with consuming the ingredient Amanita (the red mushroom with white dots, found throughout the forest). It does 30 damage over time in 1 damage ticks.

The next achievements are typically done throughout progression of the game, when brewing potions for adventuring needs.

For these, the respective amounts of potions have to be brewed.

For the next one, the effects of the big health increase potion and the physical resistance potion have to be applied at the same time to one player. Note that the potions don’t have to be brewed for this to work.

Conclusively, the last acheivemnts demands brewing of all potions available in the game. This is only possible when the progression of the world is near end game in the final dungeon (for the last ingredients, see picture above). The boss does not have to be taken down, it is in fact better for crafting needs to farm the materials needed while it is still alive, because the mobs won’t spawn anyomore otherwise.
