Tinkerlands: Early Stage Guide to Defeating the Overgrown Crab

This guide provides a concise explanation of how to easily defeat the Overgrown Crab, a rather challenging boss in the game Tinkerlands.

Preparing the Battlefield

  1. Clear Area: Find an empty patch of land or water.
  2. Rail Setup: Lay down a closed rectangular track of rails, 20 blocks high and 40 blocks wide.
  3. Health Potions: Bring about 20 small health potions for healing.
  4. Weapons and Ammunition:
    • Choose a ranged weapon and bring enough ammunition considering the crab has 8500 HP.
    • If using a magical weapon, prepare an infinite magic potion (crafted from 99 small magic potions + 5 mana flowers or mana fish).
  5. Recommended Hero Stats: Ensure your hero has a total health of around 250 HP to survive the battle.

The Battle

  1. Mount the Cart: Sit in the cart and summon the Overgrown Crab.
  2. Circular Movement: Keep circling around the track to deal continuous damage to the crab.
  3. Damage Sources:
    • The crab will periodically release bubbles that deal damage.
    • Occasionally, you may take damage from colliding with the crab.
  4. Duration: The length of the battle depends on the damage output of your weapon. The author used a Spider Staff (a highly ranged weapon that ensures no misses) and equipped an accessory that adds a chance to poison the crab on hit.
  5. Health Management: During the battle, the minimum health of the hero will drop to around 100 HP, so having a total health of 250 HP is recommended.

Loot from the Crab

  1. Massive Loot: The loot from the Overgrown Crab is incredibly rewarding.
  2. Weapon Drops:
    • The author’s most powerful weapon had a damage output of 34 before defeating the crab.
    • On the first defeat, the crab dropped a melee weapon called the Crabhammer with a whopping 147 damage!
    • After repeating the process, the crab also dropped a ranged weapon called the Crab Boomerang with 93 damage.
