9 Kings: How to Beat King of Greed

This guide explains how I built a powerful start using Dispensers to dominate early rounds and ensure victory.

The plan is simple: quickly buff one or two Dispensers so the enemies are no match for the sheer amount of firepower.

Perk Setup

When picking Greed, make sure you have:

  • At least 3 levels in the Planner perk
  • 2 levels in the Oligarch perk

These perks help you scale economy and upgrades quickly.

Early Game Strategy

When the match starts, make sure a Dispenser is one of the first cards placed. This ensures it gets the most possible stacks of shooting speed for the round.

The early waves are manageable since your base laser can one-shot most enemies. Focus on maximizing your gold income so the Dispenser becomes fast enough to hold the line effectively.

Fountain Usage & Upgrade Path

Here’s what I did:

  • Upgrade the Dispenser to at least level 3
  • Throw every card into the Fountain (except some Vaults)
  • Use Mortgage whenever you can on useless units
  • Check if your first Policy grants x3 gold when cards are thrown into the Fountain — this helps a lot with turret speed

For damage boosts, watch for:

  • Quarry (from King of Stone)
  • Blacksmith (from King of Nothing)
Using the Planner Perk
The Planner perk is great for accelerating Dispenser upgrades. You may lose 1–2 lives early on, but it’s a worthwhile tradeoff for faster scaling.

Additional tips

When encoutering the King of Progress you can also grab 1 Converter for easy defending during the early phases.

That’s how I did it. Hope this guide helps you steamroll midgame waves with the Dispensers!
