A simple guide for new players, personally I like the way the game just drops you in and lets you figure things out on your own, but if you find it confusing or got stuck I hope this guide can help you enjoy this fun little game!
Starting Up (Egg Kid vs. the World)

User Interface (now with physics!)
these simply control the settings for the fights, most of it is locked until ranking up to certain tiers. The big VS button starts the match, if you want to do something else in the game while the match is ongoing you can open the settings with ESC and press the button at the bottom that says “Unlock combat camera lock”.
Left button simply opens the settings screen, it can be opened with ESC as well. The sliders on the right adjust the color of the room.
You can open it by pressing the button on top of it, it’ll pop up a selection of three box sets you can buy from, the refresh button has no cost so you can refresh as much as you want when you’re looking for a specific box set. the dolls, weapons and accesories provided by the boxes are purely cosmetic, each and every one gets 5 randomly assigned stats that can be rerolled afterwards.
Anything you drop on this stand will be recycled into points, if you toggle the small button on it’s bottom left corner you can drag the station and it will recycle anything it touches.
Tip: Some arena maps spawn props (traffic cones, controller buttons, mahjong tiles, etc.) these can be grabbed and taken outside the arena and even recycled for easy early game points.
Dragging a doll onto this stand will unequip it’s weapon and any accessories, they will simply be dropped on the ground.
Any doll, weapon or accessory placed on this stand can have it’s stats rerolled.
Placing a doll on it and pressing the button gives it a random pose (if it has a weapon equipped it will be dropped on the ground)
Pressing this button opens a screen that shows the contents of all the shop blind boxes and how much of it has been unlocked.
Skills Menu (Chips Ahoy!)

When you first start the game the bottom part will most likely be empty until you play a few rounds or remove some of the starting chips.
Drag or right click chips to equip/remove them.
Chips come in three different flavors, Red, Green and Blue.
Red: these are passive skills that can be placed anywhere (usually unlocked in the late game)
Green: these are your basic combat skills, they will play in order starting from the top left and following the moving line and then repeat from the start. Each skill has a specific range and cooldown time. If the doll is too far to use the skill it will walk until it’s within range of using it. If a skill is in cooldown it will be skipped and the next available skill will be used instead.
Blue: these are trigger skills, unlike green skills these will only trigger on specific events, like getting stunned, knocked down or attacked while not currently using a skill. These seem to trigger regardless of where they’re placed in the line.
Tip: Placing skills with longer range first can help your doll get the initiative in the fight.
Stats Menu (Roll with it)
(Not entirely sure about Chip Trigger and Recovery)
Attack: Increases damage dealt
Health: Increases the doll’s HP
Move Speed: Makes the doll move faster
Chip Trigger: Increases the chance of additional attacks of some chips
Chip CD: Reduces cooldown time of all chips
Recovery: Reduces the delay between skills
DMG Reduction: Reduces damage taken by the doll
Cast Speed: Increases the animation speed of all skills
Stun Time: Reduces duration of stuns on the doll
Knockback: Increases the knockback power of the doll
Get up Spd: Reduces the time it takes for the doll to stand up after getting knocked down
Cast Speed and attack are the strongest by far, Health with some DMG Reduction can make dolls extremely hard to kill. In theory Recovery should be great for spam builds but I haven’t tested it.
Chip CD should be useful when you have a lot of high cooldown chips to avoid the doll having no skills left to use.
Stats come in 4 tiers:
- Grey (bad)
- White (slightly less bad)
- Orange (could be better)
- Red (the one that actually matters)
Using the Entry Machine you can reroll these stats to your liking, the first few rerolls are free and afterwards it costs a few points per roll.
Locking: Click the icon to the right of each stat to lock it, this allows you to reroll the rest of the stats while retaining the locked ones.
Buying:The icon to the left of each stat allows you to buy the desired stat with it’s highest value directly, however this costs a lot of points so it’s not viable in the early game.
Meta (Sky Cleaving Cheese)

When reaching TOP rank and fighting against player dolls you will often encounter some that will spam sky cleaving aurora, or sometimes divine punishment. This build uses the effect of the Enlightenment red chip to instantly refresh sky cleaving aurora’s cooldown, that paired with high cast speed and attack makes it a cheesy build that can melt most opponents. However it’s not flawless, this build usually lacks any form of defense and can be countered by other high speed builds or even the same build but with divine punishment instead of sky cleaving aurora (though it often comes down to the distance at the start of the match)
