The “Local Celebrity” achievement is about getting your character photographed by NPCs (Non-Player Characters) within the game. Here’s how you can make it happen with minimal effort.

  • Facing Direction: Ensure you are facing SOUTH down the main road towards where the crow originally gave you your first fish. This positioning allows for optimal NPC spawning as they will not appear in your field of view.
  • Positioning: Stand out of the road and a little bit farther back on the sidewalk to reduce the chances of NPCs tripping over your character.

 

Process

  1. Wear a Hat: Equipping a hat on your character can make you more noticeable to the NPCs.
  2. Use an Emote: Activate an emote, preferably a looping one like sitting, as this may slightly increase the odds of being photographed.
  3. Meow at the Right Time: When you see NPCs holding phones and not casting a shadow over their eyes, meow once. Many will stop and take your picture.
  4. Patience is Key: Some NPCs may not be interested, and no amount of meowing or following will work on them. In such cases, it’s best to move on.
  5. Timeframe: With good NPC spawns, you can expect to achieve your goal in about 10-15 minutes.
