Mewgenics: How to Fix Mewgenics Pirated Save Files

Here we try to fix our pirated save file because we are good guys and bought the game.

Intro

If you pirated Mewgenics and transferred your save to a legal copy, you will have noticed that the Organ Grinder/Mystery Man never changes his name to match your steam name, and your kittens will not pull from your Steam friends list and your achievements are not unlocked.

This is because a SteamID is being used in the save file itself. You need to figure out what your SteamID is and replace the wrong SteamID in the save file.

We will go through save file transfer too, just in case.

Locate the Save Folder

In windows search type %appdata%
The saves are located in the \AppData\Roaming\Glaiel Games\Mewgenics folder.
Within that folder you will find subfolders named with a string of numbers. One of these is containing your pirated saves, the other – legitimate Steam saves.

Transfer Files

After identifying your pirated saves, copy over the contents to the Steam folder, overwriting all.

Fixing the Saves

You’ll need something like Notepad++. Open your save file in Notepad++ and search for the SteamID. You need to replace this wrong SteamID with your own.

TEST!

Save, launch your game and start your save, all of your achievements should sync up and your Organ Grinder/Mystery Man will change his name.
