Maktala: Shiny Monsters Guide

This guide spoils game progression.

The shiny monsters can appear randomly during a run, there are various way to increase the probability to make them appears:

• Runes
• Gems
• Various upgrades in the Power Tree increase probability
• Area Mark upgrade “Monsters Spawn a Random Shiny Variant on Death” found in the Power Tree
• Bounty upgrade “Bounty That Spawn Shiny Monsters Can Now be Found” found in the Power Tree

At any time you will be able to pay to force the game to spawn 3 shiny monsters on your next run.

Interesting thing to know: When you have fully maxed out one Shiny Variants it wont appear anymore increasing your chance to encounter the other variants, and if all variants of a tier are found, it increase your chance to encounter higher tier variants.

At some point, when you have maxed out all variants they won’t appear anymore.
