This is my first guide, and I wanted to share everything I’ve discovered about food so far!
Inside, you’ll find all hidden recipes and their locations, every recipe I’ve discovered organized by buffs, all food-related achievements, and a few additional achievements I came across along the way along with some tips that I noted for a next playthrough to get those achievements found sooner.
This guide will be updated as more recipes are discovered through playthroughs, testing, and community suggestions. I’ve also noted sections that I plan to expand on over time.
General Food Related Tips
Grab the pocket change at the climbing gym for the vending machines
Make sure to get at least one chocolate bar from the vending machine for a achievement. You can also grab Yellow yak and instant noodles for an early game recipe to provide stam regen buffs alongside hunger restoration, but I think chocolate bars are goated because of all the buffs.

- Make sure to sleep before you eat!!I was silly and was eating then sleeping and wasted more food then needed since it ticks down your food and water while sleeping.
- Mixing ingredients with liquids consumes the entire container. If you infuse a chocolate bar with 3/4 water flask you will get a 3/4 chocolate drink. I didn’t realize this at first, so always fill all containers completely before infusing herbs.
- Cook meals strategically w/ buffs and warmth during difficult vertical sections go for grip, for long climbs go for stam, for both get a mix. When you start getting high in the climb it gets colder so food with warmth will be important.
- Don’t hoard raw ingredients. cook raw items for full potential and space for better loot. I haven’t found chocolate bars other then in the vending machine at the start, but I have found all the other packaged foods and better loot so far in the climb.
All Recipes w/ Buffs
Burst Buff: Increased movement speed (limbs and walking)
Grit Buff: Receive less damage
Grip Buff: Increased Grip Strength
Focus Buff: This increases the speed at which Aava’s stamina can recover.
No buffs other then the basics, any recipes I don’t have the buffs to are in general, but will be moved when I make it again and see the buffs.

Hidden Recipe Locations
The Escarpment Level – Tutorial achievement spoiler: Finish all 8 climbing routes at the beginning and get the beekeeper map where the recipe is located from the lockbox in the back of the gym. if you didn’t do the achievement go into free with the camera you can see between two segments of cliffs there is a pair of crevasses.The crevasse closest to the Bivouac, has the entrance to a small cave. Inside you will find loot including Mushrooms and Honey Dipper x2. Examine the whiteboard for Recipe – Super Honey.

The Shortcut – From the base of the abandoned cable car building, locate the nearby stairs. At the top of these you can find Recipe – Tourist-trap Noodles. Achievements Related to Cable Car: Unlock “Spotted!” by using the binoculars and look back the way we came to spot another climber. Also If you have fireworks from the rave cave you shoot them on top the cable car.

The Waterfall – In the hidden cave behind the large waterfall by the Bivouac. From this area, head down the stairs into the main room. You will find that there are fish everywhere. On the central island, there is a Recipe – Cave-style Trout and around the room are pots with Lentils and Ham, Powdered Milk, goat milk. Powdered Milk + Water makes goat milk. Achievement in this area: Catch one of the fish standing in the water


The Waterfall – Head right from where you found the trout recipe and rapple down to the bivouac and search around the camps. The upper of the two small camps has Clear Water (in a reusable bottle), a Thistle and a Bear-proof box with Instant Noodles. You can also find a journal to read and Recipe – Mountain Stew. There a few things in the area worth looting as well.



The Village – Inside the second doorway from the bottom there is a Bivouac. From this room head to the left. When you reach the split in the path take the right to reach an eating area. On one of the tables here you can find Recipe – Porridge.


The Vault – We can grab some Tomatoes, and Goat Milk here. Check the little storage alcove by the tomato plants to find Recipe – Pasture Tomatoes and Keepsake: Chimes. There is a Bivouac and small waterfall to refill your water on the opposite side of the cave.


The Two Hundred Steps – From the Bivouac midway up the area, follow the ledge away from the Bivouac, there is a broken wooden path we can jump. On the far side is a bearproof box with Nuts, Dehydrated Soup and Corutiko. On the ground by the tent is Recipe – Maple Fudge.


The Palace of Wind – This is in the circular room. There is a Bivouac on the left and a Recipe – Hunter’s Mushrooms and book to read.

The Dome – Beneath the dome structure, you can find a Bivouac, a spring we can open to refill our water and Recipe – Mountain Rice.

I will be returning to this when i get to the various recipes that don’t have good overview shots, so I can make it a bit clearer.
Food Achievements



To craft this you need to first craft Gentian/Nettle/Juniper + Water, then take that Herb Infusion + Gentian/Nettle/Juniper, then Strong Infusion + Any Herb to get Ultimate Infusion. This will give you the achievement.
