How to Fix

Follow these steps to ensure your cutscenes look perfect on your ultrawide screen.

  1. Launch HxD, a hex editing software.
  2. Press Control + O to open the game’s executable file.
  3. Navigate to \steamapps\common\Split Fiction\Split\Binaries\Win64 and select SplitFiction.exe.
  4. Press Control + R to open the search function.
  5. Go to the Hex Values tab.
  6. Search for the hex sequence 39 8E E3 3F.
  7. Replace it with 8E E3 18 40 or other resolution codes listed below.
  8. Activate the “Search direction all” option.
  9. Press “Change everything” to apply the modification.
  10. Save the edited file in the original location, overwriting the old executable.
  11. If you encounter any issues, simply repair the game via Steam.
