Endless Alice: New E.C.I.L.A. Guide

A guide on how to not utterly suck at playing E.C.I.L.A..

Starting Off…

E.C.I.L.A. is one hell of a character.
As a playable character, she really does feel like a playable boss in the most lore-accurate way possible!

E.C.I.L.A.’s moveset has 3 phases, a ridiculous amount of crowd mopping and one very absurd stat scaling.
She’s really slow, though.

This guide is to help clanking-enthusiasts trying to learn how to play E.C.I.L.A. so you do better than getting that egg cracked early.
Which is hard to do but isn’t impossible.

Unlock Condition

So, you want to play E.C.I.L.A. but can’t?
Below are all of the steps required to unlock E.C.I.L.A.:

  1. Complete the “E.C.I.L.A.” achievement by beating the final boss on Hard or higher with any character in less than 29 minutes.

Tips

This unlock condition isn’t exactly easy.
Below are some tips to complete this achievement:

  • Bring your main.
    • My own recommendation is Koraku, considering she can make quick work of bosses; but it’s doable with any character, really.

  • Get as many items as you can get early game but start skipping chests as you progress.
    • To be specific, try hunting as many items in stage 1 but leave everything behind by minute 7.
    • Alice Items help, but make sure not to brick your build.

  • It’s highly recommended to reach the final boss by 24 minutes if you want to be safe, considering the final boss takes around 5 minutes to beat.
    • The timer is paused on Shelter and bonus stages.
    • You can use Altars of Fate to multiply your empowerment item stacks, which is useful if you want to skip a level by going through the Angel Shop’s hidden portal.
    • Speaking of time, make sure the final boss does not get the item Regenerative Steel. If you see it, reroll it unless you’re confident she can’t outheal your damage.

Passives, Stats & Talent

Passives
Evolution

E.C.I.L.A. has 3 phases in gameplay just like she does in her boss fight.
To move up to phase 2, you must reach level 10; to move from phase 2 to phase 3, you need level 20.

Thankfully, you do not have to use THAT attack on phase 1 and hope it lands, just receiving damage gives you experience which means that eventually the next phase will occur.
Note that only during phase 1 she gains EXP from receiving damage.

Rebirth

During phases 2 and 3, if E.C.I.L.A.’s HP hits zero, she will temporarily return to egg form.
In egg form, she will remain vulnerable and unable to use her usual attacks, but will eventually self-revive after a few seconds as long as she does not die in egg form.

This passive has a cooldown of 300 seconds, however.

Destruction

During phase 3, E.C.I.L.A. will continuously take 1% of damage equivalent to your combined Max Health and Max Energy Shield, this occurs every second but this damage is non-fatal.

Uncategorized Awakenings
  • Random Normal Item (x3)
Grants a random common tier item.
  • Random Uncommon Item (x2)
Grants a random uncommon tier item.
  • Random Legendary Item
Grants a random legendary tier item.
  • Experience (x3)
    Grants N EXP.

    • Lv 1: N is 10.
    • Lv 2: N is 20.
    • Lv 3: N is 40.
    • Lv 4: N is 80.
    • Lv 5: N is 120.

Stats

E.C.I.L.A.’s stats differ depending on the phase.

Phase 1
Base Stat (No items, Empty Skill Tree)
Number
Maximum Health
20
Attack Power
50
Attack Speed
0
Armor
0 (0% damage reduction)
Movement Speed
400
Jump Count
2

She is an egg and she’s quite slow.
However, despite her health being the worst in the game so far, she has somewhat of a hidden passive for this phase that makes any incoming damage be reduced to only one HP at a time in this state, giving you enough chance to float away from danger.

Phase 2
Base Stat (No items, Empty Skill Tree)
Number
Maximum Health
200
Attack Power
20
Attack Speed
0
Armor
0 (0% damage reduction)
Movement Speed
600
Jump Count
2

This is where her gameplay really begins!
Your stats and moveset change drastically, with a Maximum Health and base Attack Power that surpass the rest of the roster, although you get 0 Attack Speed and Armor.
You do get 2 jumps, though!

Phase 3
Base Stat (No items, Empty Skill Tree)
Number
Maximum Health
500
Attack Power
30
Attack Speed
0
Armor
0 (0% damage reduction)
Movement Speed
900
Jump Count
2

E.C.I.L.A. gets cranked up to 11 in phase 3!
These stats are insanely good, ignoring the attack speed and armor.

Talents
E.C.I.L.A. has no talents at this time.

Primary Attack – Egg Form

Energy Leak

When you’re in egg form, this is your only “offense”.
A miserable attack that 99% of the time misses because it shoots 15 lasers in fully random directions, but sure feels cathartic when it does land because it deals 300% damage.

Energy Leak does not have any awakenings at this time

Primary Attack

Light Feather

When targeting an enemy, you can cast PA to send homing feathers that will target and eventually attack said enemy. E.C.I.L.A. will not perform this attack if you do not target an enemy, though.

You have a maximum of 14 feathers that all get used up at once when you attack with PA, every second recharges one feather.
More feathers = more damage.

At phase 3, every feather shoots triple, meaning that you’d effectively shoot 42 feathers with 14 stacks.

Light Feather does not have any awakenings at this time

Secondary Attack

Light Beam

Casting SA fires a phantom that shoots a laser in the direction you’re looking at.
After the laser is shot, the point of impact will remain hazardous for 10 seconds to any enemy that gets near it by leaving an Energy Orb, which deals 300% damage per second.

Light Beam does not have any awakenings at this time

Primary Skill

Falling Strike

Casting PS will make E.C.I.L.A. point towards an area, pressing PA will make her fall to the target and spawn lightning bursts from the sky around the area that she lands on.

If a light burst from Falling Strike hits an Energy Orb (left by casting SA), it will spawn an additional light burst where the energy orb used to be.

Falling Strike does not have any awakenings at this time

Ultimate Skill

Star Rain

Casting US will make E.C.I.L.A. shoot a red orb that makes light bursts shoot close to her.

The effect activates automatically 2 more times after casting, but it will only repeat on the initial casting location.

Star Rain does not have any awakenings at this time

Special Skill

Flash Strike

Casting SS will make E.C.I.L.A. dash in the direction she’s moving towards.

But that’s not all!
Dashing also means she gets a 3-second long hover!

It also counts as a damage source, considering it shoots a Light Beam towards the nearest enemy.

Flash Strike does not have any awakenings at this time

Tips & Tricks

Okay, so, now that you know what each skill does, here are general tips and tricks to make better use of E.C.I.L.A.:

Gameplay Tips
  • Here’s a fact that will blow your mind: E.C.I.L.A.’s SS can be used to attack while her PS can be used for traversal.
  • Remember how her SS gives you a 3-second hover?
You can recast SS the moment it becomes available if you want to reach higher areas if you’re fast enough, it resets your hover timer which is 3 seconds while the cooldown is somewhere around 2.2 seconds of cooldown.
  • It’s recommended to only cast PA after your 14 feathers recharge, otherwise you’d be dealing only a little bit of damage.
  • If you cast PS, do not interact with anything unless you want to interrupt the attack, but it will still go on cooldown, though.
  • E.C.I.L.A. can go through the open door in Borderwatch Haven with a precise enough PS casting.

Awakening Tips
  • Because E.C.I.L.A.’s awakenings are exclusively getting items or experience, I cannot provide tips of this type for once.

Item Tips
  • Taking too long to hatch? Avoid taking items that kill enemies passively like Ice Armor and Raikiri, receiving damage gives more EXP.
  • E.C.I.L.A. has an absurd amount of lasers per attack, so on-kill items and on-hit items will trigger like crazy.
  • She does not benefit from Attack Speed whatsoever. Then again, 0 multiplied by 5000% still amounts to 0.
  • E.C.I.L.A. can do a Ub*soft cosplay by reaching phase 3 while holding a Stone of Greed. You’ll keep losing money by just existing!
  • Because E.C.I.L.A. is the only character who has a base shield, items like Ice Armor and Shield of God360 Plugin are pretty helpful to have.
Although I can’t say the same for Electromagnetic Energy Shield because it’s not a good idea to get shields by phase 3, though.
  • Too much downtime from PA and SA? Power Storage Chip C Model gives you enough of a panic damage button.
  • Speaking of downtime, E.C.I.L.A.’s cooldowns are an insane wait, so getting Hexagonal Core and AVOIDING The Turtle Himself goes a long way.
  • Remember what I said about her skills being completely unaffected by attack speed? Job Change Grimoire gives you cooldown reduction for absolutely no attack speed penalty.

Multiplayer Tips
  • None that I can think of, sorry.
