This is a 19-step guide to complete the main story of LotS – Light on the Sea.
Walkthrough
1. Perform your lighthouse duties. You receive a base salary for filing the weather report, plus bonus money for each ship you record. You can make purchases and check your bank account from the computer in the first floor office.
2. Read two important notes: one in the kitchen which mentions a boat with a registration number, and one in your room, which mentions a magnetic key.
3. Perform enough duties to accrue €39.90, and purchase the crowbar.
4. The next day, use the crowbar on the outhouse. A compass is inside.
5. Perform enough duties to accrue €79.90, and purchase the tools. (You could also make this and the crowbar as one purchase if you have over €119.80 at one time.)
6. The next day, use the tools to unlock the room next to yours. The book on the table hints that you can use the compass to find highly magnetic objects.
7. Go down the stone path from the main door of the lighthouse, then go up the hill where there is a gap in the fence. The compass will start going crazy at a patch in the ground to the south. Dig up the patch to retrieve the magnetic key.
8. Go further north along the hill, and eventually you will be able to spot the wrecked rowboat down below. Use the binoculars to spot the number on its hull: 851.
9. Go into your room and unlock the safe with the passkey 851. A book inside the safe mentions using the passphrase 2448 with the transmitter.
10. Go into the previously-locked room, and use the Morse code translator to transmit the sequence 2448 (oo—oooo-oooo—-oo).
11. The next day, a plane will fly overhead and drop a crate into the water. Continue to perform your lighthouse duties (and don’t starve).
12. The next day, the crate will have washed up on the shore. Open it, and retrieve the keycard from inside.
13. Go into the bathroom on the first floor. The magnetic key will unlock the hidden door accessed via the wall with the sink. There is another door down the stairs. Unlock it with the keycard from the crate.
14. Nothing in the laboratory can be interacted with, so perform your lighthouse duties as usual and continue to the next day.
15. The next day, you will wake up with the lights cut and hearing the sound of a suspicious noise. The lighthouse generator has been vandalized. Go downstairs, at which point you will be knocked out and kidnapped.
16. You awake in a boathouse next to a corpse. Use the switch to turn the boat so that the bow (the higher part) points toward the big doors on the right. Raise the boat all the way up, then start turning it to the left. This will knock the ladder down onto the ground.
17. Place the ladder to the left, where there is a gap in the upper catwalk. Climb up the ladder, then go to the office niche in the corner to retrieve a saw.
18. Use the saw to break open the padlocked door near the ladder. Open the exit door, then run to the docks and get on the boat.
19. Survive the chase sequence. The trick here is to look backward, not forward. Keep driving forward, but while looking back, you will have a bit of time to react to the attacking boat’s shots as they barrel toward you. They seem to alternate leftward and rightward shots, so make wide zig-zagging turns to dodge the shots, all while moving forward. Just keep going in one direction while turning the angle of the boat to dodge the shots. If you survive, a cutscene will eventually play.

Congratulations! You’ve beaten the main story of the game. You are now able to play the game endlessly, performing your lighthouse duties each day. You can clean up the mess in the hallway to retrieve your equipment. The secret laboratory is also now blocked off.
