If you’re trying to complete the Collections tab in Grimshire, fishing is one of those systems that quietly eats a huge chunk of your playtime. I’ve put together this guide so you can stop guessing which fish shows up where and just get the ones you’re missing. Everything below is organized the way the fish actually appear in your Collections tab, so you can check off entries page by page instead of scrolling through a messy list.
The reason I wrote this up is simple: I got tired of chasing a fish across the wrong season or the wrong habitat because I’d mixed up two similarly named species. Having the habitat, rarity, size, and date windows all in one place made my own collection push way less painful, and I’m hoping it does the same for you.
How to Use This Guide
I’ve kept the fish ordered by their Collections tab pages, and inside each page they follow the exact sequence you’ll see in-game. That means you can open your collection and work down the list without hunting for a name. The dates are the catch windows, so if a fish reads Spring 1 – Winter 28, it’s available all year, while something like Spring 16 – Fall 8 only shows up in that stretch. Pay attention to the wrap-around entries too — a few fish span a season boundary and it’s easy to misread those as missing.
One thing worth flagging before you start: habitat matters far more than bait in my experience. If a fish isn’t biting where you’re standing, odds are you’re simply in the wrong spot, not doing something wrong. Double-check the habitat column first.

Second Page Fish
This page is where the Lake and Coastal water bodies really fill out, and it’s also where the junk catches start to matter for your completion percentage. I’d watch the Coastal entries closely — a lot of them share nearly identical date windows, so it’s easy to assume you’ve already logged one when you haven’t.

Third Page Fish
By the time you reach this page you’re hunting the Mere (Deep Forest) fish, and this is where things get genuinely slow. The Mere entries are spread thin, several sit behind Rare or Extraordinary pulls, and the season windows overlap in ways that can push a single fish into the next year of your playthrough if you miss it. If a fish from here is your last collection slot, don’t panic — just plan your seasons around it early rather than at the end.
I won’t pretend the Wels Catfish and its Mega size isn’t the headline of this page, but the smaller Mere catches will quietly cost you more hours overall. If you’re the kind of player who likes tying up collection goals with other objectives, the quests and rewards tied to fishing can be worth lining up while you’re already parked at the water.

Quick Notes on the Tricky Entries
A couple of entries are easy to overlook entirely. Bottled Surprise is listed under Any habitat with a full-year window, so you’ll likely snag it by accident before you even target it — I wouldn’t build a session around it. The all-year junk catches like Stick, Seaweed, and Trash work the same way, and they still count toward your collection, which trips up a lot of people who assume junk doesn’t matter.
The truly annoying ones are the fish that flip between two seasons or two years, like Golden Trout, Lamprey, and Brown Trout. Read those windows literally — a Fall-to-Spring window means you can catch them either side of winter, not just in fall. If you’re pairing this collection grind with other activities in town, my gifts guide can help you keep your relationships moving while you’re out fishing.
And if you’re the sort who wants to see every screenshot the original author planned to add, know that this guide was built primarily as a checklist rather than a picture book. The data above is what matters for the collection.

Conclusion
Nothing here is meant to be memorized in one sitting — I’d keep this page open next to your game and knock out one habitat at a time. Once you’ve got the awkward Mere fish out of the way, the rest of the collection tends to fall into place naturally as you play. Good luck filling out that last page.
