If you’re tired of getting crushed by bosses in Everything is Crab, this guide is for you. I’ve tested a reliable strategy that focuses on two key traits: Herbivore and Large Body. Once you understand how to build around these, you’ll be smashing through enemies with ease. Let’s break it down step by step.

Step 1: Choose the Right Gene from the Start
Your starting gene is crucial. Always pick Herbivore. This gives you a solid foundation for survival and resource gathering, and it pairs perfectly with the Large Body path later on.
Step 2: Prioritize Resource Gathering Early
In the early game, your main goal is to collect resources as fast as possible. Here’s the order I recommend for your first evolutions:
- Beak – Unlock this first. It helps you dig into burrows quickly, which means more resources in less time.
- Beak Specialization: Lengthen – Once you reach level 3 in Beak, pick this upgrade. It makes digging even faster and boosts your resource income significantly.
Step 3: Improve Efficiency with Cheek Pouches
Next, go for Cheek Pouches. This reduces the time you waste moving back and forth, letting you gather more in one trip. For the level 3 specialization, I chose Supplier, but honestly, any option here works fine for this build.
Step 4: Pick the Right Movement Abilities
Movement is key for both escaping danger and hunting down points of interest. In order of priority:
- Sprint – Great for quick escapes and closing distance.
- Glide – Useful for covering ground and avoiding obstacles.
Step 5: Invest in Large Body and Toughness
As soon as you see Large Body as an option, take it. Later in the game, look for Robust – this will skyrocket your health pool and make you nearly unstoppable.
Step 6: Consider Nomad for Late-Game Farming
Nomad is another excellent trait. Once you have it, rely on your perception and movement abilities to hunt down points of interest. This lets you level up fast and snowball into the late game.
Step 7: Choose Your Attack Style Freely
By the time you reach level 100+, your attack options are wide open. You can use whatever feels fun. That said, Body Slam deals the highest damage output if you want to optimize.
