Katawa Shoujo: Optimal Steam Deck Configuration

This guide will ensure the most Optimal Experience for Katawa Shoujo on Steam Deck
You can get a Maximum of 9 – 10 Hours of battery on the OLED Steam Deck

 

Quick Access Menu Settings

When Katawa Shoujo is open:
Enable “Use per-game profile”

Set the Refresh Rate to 90hz or 60hz (90hz is only available on Steam Deck OLED)

Set the TDP Limit to 4

Set the Manual GPU Clock to 300 MHz

Docked

Head to Katawa Shoujo in your Steam Library:

– Click on the Settings Cog or Press the Options Button

– Head to Properties

– Set the “Game Resolution” to Native

Undervolting

(Please know what you are doing before following this)
To Undervolt your Steam Deck, Make sure its turned off.

– Hold the Volume Up Button while pressing the Power Button

– Select System Utility

– Head to the Advanced Tab

– Scroll Down till you find the Voltage Offset Options

– Set the CPU, GPU, and SOC voltage offset values to -50 mV.


Once that is done press Select to Save and Exit.

Extras (Optional)

R18 Patch

The R18 Patch works. You can find it on the Official Katawa Shoujo Website. Just Drag the “r18.rpa” file into the “game” folder in the KS Install Folder (Can be found by Browsing Local Files, Right Click -> Manage.

Warning: The R18 Patch contains Adult Content, i do not recommend it if you are below the age of 18.

Additional Language Patches

The Additional Language Patches also work.
Install them by dragging their respective .rpa files into the “game” directory.
