This guide will walk you through the process of enabling the bow reticle in Kingdom Come: Deliverance II.
Find your game’s root folder
This is an old trick from the first game:
1. Go to your Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 root folder. You can find this easily by right-clicking on the game in your Steam library, and then choose Properties > Installed Files > Browse. The path should resemble something similar to: ~\steamapps\common\KingdomComeDeliverance2 depending on which drive you have it installed on.
Create a new text file, name it user.cfg
2. Create a new text file, and rename the entire thing to “user.cfg” without quotes. Make sure you have ‘view file extensions‘ enabled so the file is NOT named “user.cfg.txt”. A warning will probably pop up stating that changing the file extension may make it unstable, but you can safely ignore it.
Edit the user.cfg file
3. Open up user.cfg and enter this exact line: wh_pl_showfirecursor = 1
Success!
You should now have a reticle while using ranged weapons! The purpose of the file is to have the command persist on launch so you won’t have to manually re-enter it. Be advised that ranged weapons may not always be completely accurate across all distances relative to the reticle. It’s a point of reference nonetheless, and a quality of life option that some people may prefer.
