Where to find the blueprints in Early Access of Subnautica 2. Like my resource guide, it is a work in progress and will update as the game does. If this guide is useful to you, please give it a thumbs up to boost it above the troll guides for others to find it.
Introduction
This guide was made with the assumption that blueprints in the early access are mostly RANDOMIZED, as with the old games, save for a few specifics. If there’s anyone who believes a blueprint location in the game to be guaranteed that I didn’t mention, or that their’s was in a different spot than I claimed (or missing) tell me so I may update the guide, please and thank you! And have fun with your early access creations, those of you like me who simply love building bases in survival!
Habitat Builder
The habitat builder needs two fragments for the full blueprint. One fragment is guaranteed to be found in the box outside the Welcome Center door. To get the fragment you will- obviously- need a scanner. Scanning after already having all fragments will give you titanium. The second fragment can be found at Anita’s blackbox. It is laying on a table beneath the Digestion Sample. NOA will alert you of Anita’s blackbox fairly early (I got it around the two hour mark) into the game. You will also get the corridor fragment after getting this second fragment, along with the hatch.
Dining Table
The first dining table fragment will appear along with the biolab fragment in the Welcome Center, in the first room after entering through the broken hatch. It is flipped onto it’s side on the floor, and can be scanned. Currently unknown where the other fragments are as this was written an hour and a half after launch.
Biolab
The ONLY biolab fragment you need in early access can be found beside the dining table fragment in the first room of the Welcome Center. This will fully unlock the item’s blueprint.
Beacon
One beacon fragment can be found in a box near the wreck by the Welcome Center, right below a NOA audio log upload. Another fragment can be found in this wreck for the next item section of the guide. The last fragment will be found to the southeast biome where the giant crabs are.

Dive Elevator
The dive elevator needs two fragments to be crafted. The first fragment can be found at the wreck near the Welcome Center, across from the beacon fragment. Below is a screenshot, but it’s a pretty hard item to miss.
Flashlight
The flashlight fragments can all three be found scattered around the starting biome. I found mine in caves around the lifepod. Not sure yet if it’s randomized or if these caves are confirmed spots, so I’d recommend looking in the caves directly below your lifepod.
Portable Storage Box
You can get the blueprint for a portable storage locker by finding one. In the cave directly beneath the lifepod is a storage box laying near the oxygen plant.
Wavemaker
Similar to Ryley Robinson’s seaglide, the wavemaker is an underwater transportation device. Not a vehicle, mind you, it simply makes you swim faster. The wavemaker requires THREE fragments, which can be found in boxes in the biome (I do not yet know the name of) between the Safe Shallows Chap’s blackbox to the Southeast. There are highly aggressive Nibbler Mangos in the area, so be careful while diving and remember your multitool. These fragments are ~30 meters deep at most.
Wall Fragment
This decorative item can be found in a wreckage pile near Camp One and requires two fragments for the full blueprint.
Chap’s Blackbox
I’m going to be frank. There are SO many fragments here (some 1 piece fragments) that it deserves it’s own section. In Chap’s blackbox, you can find:
- Repair tool (1/3)
- Stool
- Biobed
- Floor locker
- Single bed (1/2)
- Bioreacter (1/3)
