Mesmalie: All Gameover Sequences Guide

Mesmalie doesn’t particularly have hard achievements, but “Memories of Maybe” is most likely the one that will take the longest. It requires all of the gameover sequences to be discovered throughout the game, and this guide is meant to help and serve as a checklist for anyone going for the achievement.

This guide might not be entirely accurate and if any endings have been missed please let me know!
The easiest way to keep check in game if the chapter has a star next to it; this indicates every gameover has been found in the chapter.

[OBVIOUS SPOILERS OF THE GAME IN THIS GUIDE; PLEASE PLAY THE GAME FOR YOURSELF BEFORE READING THIS!!!]

 

ACT 1

This act has most of the gameovers’ found I think, so this will probably be the longest section.

I. REVERIE
This one has no gameover’s. Only a jagoff.

II. Middle of Nowhere
One gameover can be achieved by leaving before you come towards the front door.
One gameover can be achieved by leaving after approaching the front door.
One gameover can be achieved by leaving once Mesmer slightly opens the front door.
One gameover can be achieved by Mesmer closing the door on you.
– You can do this by acting like you don’t know why you are there nor do you have magic when she asks.
One gameover can be achieved by leaving once Mesmer asks you to show your magic.
One gameover can be achieved when Mesmer tells you to come in.

III. Kitchen Session
One gameover can be achieved by leaving the minute you enter the house.
One gameover can be achieved by leaving once you are able to upon your first session.

IV. Augmented Magick
One ending can be achieved by leaving before the brief minigame begins.
One ending can be achieved by leaving during the minigame.
One ending can be achieved by leaving after failing to use your magic on the potion vials.
– Do this once Mesmer tells you to take your time.
One ending can be achieved by leaving after using your magick on Mesmer.

V. To The Back Side
One ending can be achieved by leaving once the session is over.
One ending can be achieved by leaving once you have used your magick on everything in the house.
– This one may be tricky as there are a lot within the house. Hold SPACE to check if you are unsure whether to leave or not.
One ending can be achieved by listening to Buddy/The Creature’s advice immediately.
– It is not affected by whether they have been killed or not.
Two endings can be achieved by leaving after divising a plan with Buddy/The Creature
– There is slight variation depending on if you killed them or not.

ACT 2

VI. Second Session
Chapter’s VI & VIII share a same gameover, meaning if you were to do it on either, it would count for the other.

Despite the two actual gameover’s in this chapter, you only need 1 to earn the star.
– Both involve using your magick on Mesmer, accidentally or not. If you did it on purpose, leave.

VII. STITCHES
The only gameover found here is leaving once Mesmer enters the house.

VIII. BEDROOM MURAL
Both gameovers can be achieved by leaving after hearing Mesmer explain The Ritual.
– They vary on whether you accepted or declined to help Mesmer with The Ritual.

IX. Second Second Session
The gameover’s have already been discussed.

ACT 3

X. The Woods Behind The House
There is no gameover found in this chapter. Mesmer is always present and prevents you from this.

XI. Deep Forest
There is only one gameover found in this chapter. It can be achieved by leaving after following Buddy/The Creature during it’s pleading attempt.

XII. FINAL SESSION
One gameover can be achieved by leaving once the session begins.
One gameover can be achieved by leaving after leading the doe towards the fields.
– This is arguably the hardest gameover to get, as you need to deviate the deer onto an alternate path that is blocked by destroyable bushes.

XIII. Your Part

There is only one gameover in this chapter. It can be achieved by leaving while outside.
– You are locked out of this if you decide to stay, however.

ACT 4

XI. Mesmer Trapped
One gameover can be achieved by using your magick purposefully on Mesmer while trapped.
– It does not matter if you interact with Buddy/The Creature afterwards.

One gameover can be achieved by picking up Buddy/The Creature and then leaving.

XII. Mesmer, Malady, & Mirphie
No gameover’s here. Mesmer didn’t do that!

XIII. Ding
One gameover can be achieved by leaving once the bell rings.
One gameover can be achieved by leaving once picking up the Buddy/The Creature’s writings.

XIV. THE RITUAL…?
One gameover can be achieved by leaving immediatley
– This gameover can also be achieved after Mesmer presents the concoction to herself.
One gameover can be achieved by leaving after Mesmer drinks the concoction.
One gameover can be achieved by failing to prevent the RITUAL.
– I do not know if this one actually counts as it’s an actual gameover for the gameplay in this chapter.

XV. After All That
There is no gameover here. An ending can only be achieved.

XVI. ??????
No gameover’s here. Only farewell’s.
