Welcome to this survival guide, I’ll walk you through some basics and you’ll hopefully evade burning your era early.
Stats
- Mood – Mood is important, you gain this by completing killings and buying new things. It affects your killing success.
- Skill – Higher skill = better success on difficult targets. Buy nice things to increase it, skill tree gives passive bonuses.
- Intel – Gives you higher fame ‘ticks’ the higher it is. More intel = more fame. Buy nice things to increase it, skill tree gives some passive bonuses.
- Cute – The most dangerous stat. Increases heat gains but increases fame payouts per kill, more job offers.
Currency
- Fame – Achieve fame by; killing targets, passive ticks from intel, and parts of the skill tree (passives).
- KP (Kill Points) – Earned per successful kill. Spend these on the skill tree page.
- Money – Earned though kills and upfront payments from job offers. You can negotiate job offers later on through investing in the skill tree.
- Debt – Failed kills add to your debt. You can pay this off by donating to charity.
The Inbox & Executing Jobs
- The inbox – Your inbox is your sanity. Accept job offers, delete spam and silence leakers. Get to emails quickly otherwise suffer the consequences. Your inbox will affect your primary stats (Mood, Skill, Intel, Cute) and add heat.
- Job offers – Primary way of gaining resources (KP, Money, and Fame). Job offers come in different tiers starting from Street level to Icon level (you can tell based on $ payouts, higher payout higher tier). Rejecting jobs can increase your $ payout at the cost of slower offers + heat depending on the rejected job (reject high profile jobs = heat). Rejecting dangerous archetype jobs will always increase heat (crime boss, predator ceo, media mogul).
- Research – Based on your intel + mood, you get better research speeds. It’s always better to get the max research option whenever you can.
- Execute – You researched your target, now kill them. Your success is dependent on your skill + mood, when picking an execute option you will see your success chance (it’s displayed below the job too). Pick the option with either decent fame payout (yellow bar under the execution type) or the execute option that fits their archetype (green bar under execution type). Occasionally you’ll get an execution type with both bars, you should always pick that option.
“Laying low” between kill’s interprets to checking your inbox and staying on top of emails. You don’t need to kill everyone all at once.
Nice Things
Priority should go to mood bonuses and intel bonuses followed by skill bonuses. Don’t buy too many cute things unless you want to accidentally burn your era (try to cap your cute stat to around 20).
Not a lot to talk about outside of increasing your stats except for Charity. Charity is the only thing that persists between era’s + paying off debt’s.
Skill Tree
- Performer – Inbox / Cute / Fan mail management. Passive Cute gains.
- Nerd – Jobs / Heat management. Passive Heat & Intel gains.
- Artist – Execute / Skill / Fame / Heat management. Passive skill / fame / heat gains.
- Vanity – Miscellaneous. Gives some passive bonuses to all stats and auto-purchase of Nice Things.
My personal strategy is to focus on Performer & Artist for inbox and heat management. Slowly invest in Nerd and spend leftover points into Vanity.
Era’s & Moving Forward
After getting 10k followers (fame) & having burnt your first era on hitting max heat, you unlock the ability to start a new era. This gives you the following benefits;
- Bonuses to fame gains per Era (stacking).
- Perks outside of the skill tree (stacking+permanent).
- New Nice Things to buy.
There are special perks you can choose when hitting certain milestones in fame. These fame perks are permanent.
Pay attention to your debt. Debt level impacts the final ending you achieve.
