[Guide] How to Clear PL Cache Files

Regularly clearing cache files can help with loading-bugs and/or crashes; especially after an update.

Thought I would share, for anyone interested…

=====================
TO CLEAR THE CACHE :
=====================

BACKUP FIRST Navigate to: C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\LocalLow\Paralives\ *backup the entire Paralives sub-folder

THEN

Navigate to: C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\LocalLow\Paralives\Paralives

DELETE the following; the game will regenerate these files on next startup; all the following are *Safe to Delete:

AssetReimportInfo.txt
Player.log
Player-prev.log (if it exists)
shadercache (if it exists; may exist on some hardware setups)

!!! DO NOT DELETE THE FOLLOWING FOLDERS !!!

Deleting any or all of the following folders can cause issues, loss of data or corrupt your game; unless specified as *Safe:

•[FOLDER] com.unity.addressables
-A standard component of the Unity Engine; this it NOT a mod or user-data folder

•[FOLDER] Local.mod
-Contains local-user specified cache/temp data; in Unity games it can hold critical localization and/or config data.

•[FOLDER] MyOptions.mod
-Stores your game settings *Safe to Delete IF you want to RESET SETTINGS TO DEFAULT.

•[FOLDER] MyPremadeHouseholds.mod
-Contains user-created or Workshop-installed households; Households = REMOVE IN-GAME-ONLY

•[FOLDER] MyPremadeLot.mod
-Contains user-created lots or lots added via mods; Lots = REMOVE IN-GAME-ONLY

•[FOLDER] MyPremadeOutfits.mod
-Contains premade outfit data for characters in your save; Outfits = REMOVE IN-GAME-ONLY

•[FOLDER] MySavedGames.mod
-This is your main save data –DO NOT DELETE!
